FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ: FAQ

DO YOU TAKE APPOINTMENTS?

Nope! For your convenience, we are a walk-in facility and appointments are never needed.

HOW DOES CITY PAWS DIFFER FROM 24-HR EMERGENCY HOSPITALS?

Our mission is to fill the gap between your primary care vet and the emergency room. We provide prompt, effective relief for cases that are not serious enough for the hospital, but are too pressing to wait until the next business day.

IS THERE AN EMERGENCY FEE FOR MY VISIT?

There is never an emergency visit fee. At every visit, our veterinarians will provide a full examination of your pet. The office visit is $90 no matter the reason you come in!

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept all major credit cards, cash payments, and Care Credit. Payment is required at the time services are rendered. Visit www.carecredit.com for more information about what they can offer.

WHAT IF MY PET IS TOO ILL TO BE CARED FOR BY CITY PAWS?

Our state-of-the-art facility will be able to handle most injuries and illnesses; however, if your pet is too sick or injured to be cared for by us, we’ll waive the office visit fee and refer you to a facility that can manage critically ill animals.

WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS?

We recognize that pet medications can be very expensive. We have an on-site pharmacy for immediate medication needs. We will also partner with local pharmacies to write prescriptions for the lowest cost generic alternatives. For long-term medications, we believe your primary care veterinarian is your best source for refills.

DO YOU PERFORM ROUTINE VETERINARY CARE?

Nope! We want to focus all our efforts on ill cats and dogs needing urgent care

MY PET IS SUFFERING. DO YOU OFFER PALLIATIVE CARE?

We are committed to providing care and comfort for your animal. While they are with us, we offer local and general anesthesia during procedures for their comfort and safety. Furthermore, if you feel your pet is suffering and is at the end of their life, we can offer compassionate euthanasia services when you are ready to say goodbye.

HOW DO YOU COMMUNICATE WITH MY PRIMARY CARE VET?

We will email you the records from your visit directly by the end of the next business day. At your request, we will also happily print your records at the end of your visit, so you can have them with you for any immediate follow-up care.
